The viability of both of these activities hinges completely on maximising frame growth from forage and supplementing this efficiently with concentrates as required for best results at minimum cost.

With this in mind, we recommend the use of premium quality grower rations that complement good quality forage and minimise the substitution of feed for home grown forage and having grown the animal sufficiently we switch over to high levels of premium quality finisher rations to optimise weight gain, kill out and grading.

Given the pressure on finishing margins, there is a huge incentive to harness as much gain and if at all possible, to finish cattle at a younger age off grass. Accordingly, we offer specific low protein high energy summer beef rations Summer Hi-Beef or Summer Beef Supreme to finish cattle efficiently off grass without recourse to further housing in the second winter.
Where this is not possible, we are happy to recommend something like our Hi-Beef Supreme 100 product for feeding at 4-5kg per head per day in conjunction with top quality silage ad-lib.

However, where silage quality is average or below par, we recommend its removal from the diet and replace it with good quality straw or hay, together with high or ad lib allowances of our range of Bull finisher rations as shown :
